Report of The Samoyed Association Rally for Rescue - 5th August 2007.

The Samoyed Association once again held a very successful 'Rally for Rescue' at the home of the David & Linda Brasier (Chief Rescue Officer) in Hertfordshire on Sunday 5th August. We really can't thank Linda and David enough for the amount of work this entails, and allowing us all to invade their home year after year.

The day promised to be hot and sunny, and delivered true to form being the hottest of the year so far, fortunately the gardens at Mollcroft enjoy some splendid mature trees which provided a canopy of cover for the dogs.

About 100 dogs attended, mostly Samoyeds, but other breeds are always welcome to come and join the games and the fun classes ranged from a sausage race to musical statues - both practically impossible with a Samoyed !, interspersed with handling classes and classes specifically for the Rescue dogs. Jackie Pritchard from Santaviga Samoyeds in Scotland officiated, and Best in Rally was declared to be Sammi owned by Hannah & Natasha Wilson, who was also declared Best Rescue Dog. Best Rescue Bitch & Reserve Best in Rally was Tara owned by Lynn O'Connor and handled by her husband.

Approximately £1800 was raised for The Samoyed Association Rescue Fund, and grateful thanks go to all those generous dog companies and people who donated prizes and items for auction and raffle. We must also send out a big thank you for all the people who work tirelessly each year to make this event such a fun day for those that attend.

The 2007 Rally for Rescue managed to raise £1800 that will go towards helping Samoyeds in need.
