SAMOYED RESCUE RALLY - SUNDAY 31st August 2003
It was an absolute pleasure to welcome so many Samoyeds and their Owners to "Mollcroft" for the second Rescue Rally held here. The weather was just right, there was lots of fun in the Match & Rally classes, the Sams were well behaved (well most of the time), everybody was meeting new friends, the Barbecue/Drinks Stall/Breed Stand/Tombola/Cakes Stall/Raffle/Furry Friends Stall all did good business and we raised the fantastic sum of:-
£876.22 net.
This figure includes donations from British Car Auctions, Mr & Mrs Emes, Mr & Mrs Davidson, Mr & Mrs Jeffries, Mr & Mrs Ward, Mr & Mrs Pont and Mr & Mrs Lord, who were all unable to attend the Rally. A big thanks for taking the time to send in your donations. The Auction sales went to Lorraine Forsdick and Andy Fry and the vouchers were sent in from Mr & Mrs Elroy. We are also grateful for the assorted jewellry sent to us by Anne Willis and Candy from Brighton.
The day would not have been a success without the immense hard work of Avis and Preston Haffenden for everything from orgainsing and stewarding the classes to negotiating for the excellent prizes (we are sure that Traders must say each time they see Preston heading their way "here he is again") Well, done to the both of you.
We are, also, very grateful to the following:-
Madeleine Weller
- our gracious and knowledgeable Judge.
Betty East - our Cake maker, raising £60
Trudy Coates & Carmen Jones - our Tea Ladies
John Baxter - the Barbecue King
Terry Danvers-Smith - for selling the Raffle Tickets
Tim, Lee & Lauren - our Furry Friend Stall
Dog Show Traders - for their support and generosity
and all the members of the Samoyed Association Committee who came on the day,
(Olive Hampton & Lee Ross, Valerie Blewitt, Roz Oxley, Anita Blore, including
our President, Angela Danvers-Smith.)
On a final note we would observe that this day is not mainly for raising funds but for everybody to have pride and enjoyment from showing off their Rescue Samoyeds and that the Samoyed Association does its best to care for ALL Samoyeds.
Linda
& David Brasier.
Remembering our beatiful girl POPPY (Sayantsi Bright Smile).
